Books and Educational Material for Daycare Centers in the Dutch Caribbean
Children’s book author Mylo Freeman recently visited several daycare centers in the Dutch Caribbean with Stichting Biblionef. “It was a great experience”, she says. “I met so many enthusiastic children and teachers who love stories and books. But what really struck me was that they simply do not have enough books.”
Reading is so important for a child’s development. It opens up new worlds, stimulates the imagination and helps with language skills. That’s why we want to make sure that these children have access to beautiful books in Papiamentu, Papiamento, English and Dutch.
It’s not just a problem far away – it’s about daycare centers in the Dutch Caribbean, where Dutch children live that we can and should support. After all, these children are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and should also have access to to beautiful children’s books and educational materials.
